WORSHIP + MUSIC

At The Village Chapel we desire that our Sunday morning musical worship be God-directed, Christ-centered and congregationally accessible. We want to be a church that sings well! The Apostle Paul directs us to do the same, “…teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:16). Musical worship is formative and helps to shape our understanding of the Gospel. We have the privilege of singing to one another, reminding each other of the matchless worth of Jesus.

Call To Worship: To God Be the Glory

Leader: To our God and Father be glory forever and ever!
People: My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.

Leader: To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever.
People: I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God While I have my being.

All: To our God and Father be glory forever and ever! Amen!

Classic Prayer: Lewis Bayly

There can be nothing better than to praise your name, O Lord, and to declare your lovingkindness in the morning, on your holy and blessed Sabbath day!  For it is your will and command that we set aside this day to serve and praise you. We remember with thanks the creation of the world by the power of your word, and the redemption of humanity by the death of your Son. We declare your greatness and power. Yours is the glory and the victory, and we praise you. Everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, and you excel as Lord of all. Riches and honor come from you. You reign over all. You give grace to all. Power and strength are in your hands. May my chief delight be to dedicate myself to your glory and honor…to your praise and worship this sabbath day. Amen.
