Nashville is a creative town, with many Music City residents making a living in the arts. While music is the most obvious example of that, there are also many writers, visual artists and other creative types who use their talents to create a career. Here at TVC, we make a concerted effort to help these creative individuals connect, share their talents, celebrate the work of others and gain support for the unique challenges of these professions.

From art shows and Creative Arts Potlucks to "TVC Arts Presents" special events, there's something for everyone. And you don’t need to be a professional artist – or even an amateur one! – to participate. Anyone interested in exploring issues of faith and creativity are welcome.

Art Shows

The Village Chapel community is a diverse and talented collection of individuals, many of whom are artists. The Living room provides an inviting canvas, serving as a seasonal gallery to showcase the eclectic talents of creatives who call TVC home.

TVC Art Shows Mission Statement

In a continued effort to integrate the aspects of a flourishing life, we believe artists have the opportunity to contribute a visual narrative, expressing a thoughtful theology of beauty.  The art shows we present exist to:

  • Glorify God, support the disciplined efforts of artists, and display works for the benefit and enjoyment of our community
  • Inspire and express a sense of awe, wonder, astonishment, and watchfulness
  • Give voice through visual medium to those who pursue a long obedience, in the same direction

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. - Philippians 4:8

Art Show Opening - Bill Killebrew

With the wealth of extraordinary creative talent in Nashville, we love to feature the incredible artists in our church from time to time in the TVC Gallery (located in the Living Room at TVC Main). Our new Art Show opens today featuring the work of Bill Killebrew. In his latest show entitled Recently Painted Pictures, Mostly, all of the pictures are drawn from immediate surroundings, home, work, places, people and family. Take a look at new show in the Living Room at TVC Main and learn more about the inspiration behind these pieces.

Creative Arts Potluck

Take a break from the summer heat and make plans to join us at our next Creative Arts Potluck on Friday, July 19 at 6pm in The Living Room at TVC Main. Our featured artist Bill Killebrew will share the inspiration behind his new art and answer questions about his work. We'll also enjoy the musical stylings of Zach & Maggie White as well as the fellowship of other TVCers. Bring a dish to share! RSVP to reserve your spot and secure childcare.
