Young Adults

At The Village Chapel, we recognize that your twenties and early thirties are a unique time in life when the focus is on starting a career, entering the workforce, attending grad school, establishing relationships and just trying to figure out life. We hope you will feel at home when you worship with us on Sundays and find community at our church-wide events, men’s or women’s studies, Home Groups and Second Saturdays of City Service.

Current Young Adults Study: befriend

Our Young Adult Sunday Morning Gathering, led by Bill and Karen Wells, is geared toward young professionals and others in their 20s to mid-30s. Join us each Sunday morning at 10 am in the Living Room at TVC Main.

We are currently doing a six-week study on faith and relationships using the Scott Sauls book and video series befriend. Is real friendship too risky? We live in a world where the real deal is hard to find. Suspicious of others and insecure about ourselves, we retreat to the safety of our small, self-made digital worlds. Tragically, even the church can become a place that reinforces this isolation. Jesus models a much richer vision of friendship.

Pastor and teacher Scott Sauls invites Christians to see the breadth of Christ’s love toward people we often avoid, outlining principles for befriending those around us with the love of Jesus. Yes, it’s true: Real friendship is costly. Love does make us vulnerable. But without risk, our lives will remain impoverished. Learn what it means to be a good friend in an age of judgment, isolation, and fear.
