How do you collect tithes and offerings?

There is an offering box on a table by the door of the chapel and the Family Room at all times.  We encourage cheerful, generous and purposeful giving.  We have chosen not to circulate offering baskets/buckets/plates.

Is there a way to give my tithes/offerings online?

You are welcome to set up an automatic payment with your bank in their online bill paying feature.  Here is the address to use for that option, or to mail any check in to TVC:

I’d like to get more connected at TVC. What is available?

The short answer is to check out the TVC calendar HERE.  For some more specifics...

  • Home Groups are a great way to connect with others in a smaller setting.  They are the place that community is most often birthed, and congregational care takes place.  We do not have a formal “assigning” of Home Groups.  Please look over the Home Groups page HERE to see which one might be a good fit for you.  You might even try several before settling on the one you are most comfortable with.  Home groups meet every other week seasonally, please check the website calendar HERE for any upcoming Home Group dates.
  • Weekly Bible Studies are available seasonally on Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm for men and for women.  Wednesday mornings seasonally, we offer a New Moms' Bible Study for mothers of nursery-aged children.  There is also a seasonal Women's study Thursday mornings at 10:00 am.  Childcare is available for all three - we ask that you make a reservation for your children at childcare.thevillagechapel.com so we can make sure we have enough workers to care for your little ones.
  • DBDs (Dinners By Decade) are potluck dinners designed to gather people of similar ages and stages.  We host them seasonally on Friday nights at 7:00 pm in The Living Room.  Check the calendar for your specific group, and sign up at events.thevillagechapel.com.  Childcare is available for certain dinners - you will be prompted to make a reservation for your child(ren) after filling out the online signup for your dinner.
  • Men’s Groups meet around the city Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings, and Tuesdays for lunch.  Click HERE for the Men’s Ministry page (men.thevillagechapel.com).
  • Missions events with local ministries are a great way to serve and meet other people.  They are posted on our Missions page, in the bulletin, and in our announcements on Sunday.
  • Annual picnic:  We plan a summer picnic for the entire church to participate in each year.  This is a good place to connect and see people from other TVC worship services!
  • We also send out emails about any of the above mentioned opportunities.  To sign up to be on any of our email lists, click here.

Do you offer Sunday School?

We offer periodic Sunday School classes for adults on Sundays at 4:30 pm. Please check the website calendar for Sunday School classes that have been confirmed.

I’d like to join the TVC Choir. What do I do?

If you are interested in singing with the TVC choir, please contact Jennifer Cooke, TVC’s choir director, by clicking HERE.   No experience is necessary.

Please check the online calendar for rehearsal times.

I’ve lost a personal item (Bible, phone, sunglasses, mug, etc.). Do you have a lost and found?

We have a “lost and found” area at the back of the chapel.  When we find something you’ve left behind, we place it there.  You may look for your lost item the following Sunday.  Items not claimed will be donated to Good Will after a period of time.

Can I use a room at TVC for a meeting or event?

Generally speaking, all of the spaces that TVC occupies in the St. Bernard building must be used for TVC programming and events only.  This is part of our agreement with building management.

Who do you recommend for counseling?

In most cases, TVC recommends contacting Restore Ministries for any of your counseling needs. They are a faith-based organization, offering many tools for support in general life issues, relationships, coping, and addictions.  To be matched with a counselor, contact Meghan H. Smith at 615-565-6278.  Restore Ministries offers a choice of counselors and can work with you on what you are able to pay.  They also offer a program called “Journey to Freedom” which is a valuable opportunity to focus on various aspects of life in a small men’s or women’s setting.  These groups meet in places all over the city, and more information is available on the Restore website.  For other counseling needs, send a confidential email using our secure online contact form, and we will do our best to help you.

Where can I find out more about what you believe and about how/why you do things here?

We love it that you want to know more.  We offer quarterly meetings we call “Intro to TVC” during which we give info on the history of the church, Pastor Jim’s background, our mission, goals and vision etc.  This is a great place to start, to ask questions or to learn from the questions that others ask.  There is also quite a bit of information what we believe on the "About TVC" portion of the website, which deals with the essentials of what we believe. We hope that you’ll take the time to read the information provided there.

Where should we park?

After work hours, M-F 9-5, any of the parking spaces around the building, and in the lower parking lot at the front of the building are available for our use.  We ask that if you park on the surrounding streets, you respect personal driveways and any parking regulations that are posted.  That said, during normal work hours, please respect the numbers on the parking places around the building.  They are allotted to businesses with corresponding room numbers. The lower parking lot out front is always clear for us to park in, any time, any day.

How often do you serve Communion at TVC?

We offer Communion once monthly on the first weekend of the month at all worship services.

What does TVC believe about baptism? How can I make arrangements to be baptized?

TVC offers opportunities for water baptism twice each year.  For information about what we at TVC believe about baptism, please click HERE.  If after reading this link you are interested in being baptized at TVC, please contact us by using our secure online form.

I am a visual artist. How can I show my work in the TVC Gallery?
