Financial Transaction Security Policy

POLICY
At The Village Chapel your information is held securely by our myTVC management software contracted through Church Community Builder. This information will remain private and will never be given away or sold to third parties outside of our contracted partners used to process online secured transactions. We are here to serve you in this regard and will work to correct any issues or answer any questions you may have. Please contact our Finance Department at: 615-297-4747 or [email protected] for assistance.

SECURITY
Our myTVC online giving system allows us to provide you with access to your own contribution records and allows you to make donations safely and securely online. This is a system in use by over 1500 churches around the world.

There are several aspects of security related to the system. First, Church Community Builder proactively monitors and analyzes all system logs to identify security threats. Their data centers utilize systems for Intrusion Detection, Distributed Denial of Service, and many other external threats. They employ McAfee Security to proactively test network vulnerabilities. Church Community Builder sites are tested daily to ensure they pass the FBI/SANS Internet Security Test.

For account management, Church Community Builder utilizes the most current encryption technology to maintain the security of your data. Every parameter passed in the hyperlinks is fully encrypted. Our SSL certificates support 256 bit encryption, and according to Wikipedia: “Breaking a symmetric 256-bit key by brute force requires 2128 times more computational power than a 128-bit key.” Our entire application, not just the login module, utilizes SSL encryption. We also utilize many hardware and software security tools to help prevent and detect attacks. Finally, we don’t store credit card information onsite, and only facilitate the transmission of that data – so even in the event of a database breach, credit card details would not be at available for thieves to steal.

Please help us keep your information safe by protecting your login information. Access to sensitive personal and financial information can be gained by letting someone else use your account or by leaving the information accessible to others.
